Uniphos Free Fatty acids is an ideal instrument for the determination of acid value of edible Oil samples.  The fatty acids in the oil get detached from the triglycerides during processing or improper storage. These free fatty acids contribute to oil rancidity and cause deterioration in flavour of the oil. The sample oil is first treated with a variety of reagents to create a colored dye. The instrument measures the absorbance of the light passed through this colored dye and relates it to the free fatty acids as % of Oleic acid. With datalogging included as standard and the USB interface present in the instrument allows the user to easily transfer the stored data along with time and date to a computer.
